1. What is this blog post’s title a reference to? (No clicking.)
2. According to Wikipedia, Queen Victoria was queen for 63 years and 216 days, while Queen Elizabeth II (as of today) has been queen for 63 years and 215 days. And yet they’ve been queen for the same amount of time! How can this be?
3. Snopes has declared that it’s, alas, not true that this year is the first year in 666 years that Halloween falls on a Friday the 13th. However, here are two things that are true:
a. October 31, 2600 will be the first time ever that Halloween (as calculated in our Gregorian calendar) falls on a Friday the 13th (as calculated in the Julian calendar). And the same will happen a few more times throughout the 27th century.
b. Also, this year, Friday November 13 (in our Gregorian calendar) is October 31 in the Julian calendar. Spooooky!
