‘Political pun of the month’

So declares Prof. Mark Liberman (Language Log), and I agree (whatever one might think of the substantive sentiment):

The referent, of course, is Robert Frost’s “Fire and Ice” (not to be confused with the Ralph Bakshi movie):

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire….

And, yes, “administration” does throw the scansion off, but what can you do ….
